Tonnerre Kalara Club have beaten Yong Sport Academy of Bamenda two nil in Yaounde to move up fourth in Pool B of the Elite One championship.

The championship which is in its second phase resumed this Wednesday after a prolonged break.

It was the second top confrontation between both teams after their goalless tie in a delayed day one game played last month.

During today’s contest, shortly after halftime, Pierre Sylvain Abogo opened scores from the penalty spot in style. Patrick Anaba Metogo would afterwards seal the win with a fine header.

The North West-based football outfit mustered some attacking through their youngster Frankline Yusinyuy Tangiri. Tangiri gave TKC’s defence a nightmarish first half but with nothing to show for.

YOSA’s display was marred by frequent fouls, misplaced passes, and a lackluster attitude.

The host resumed the second half with much more verve. Their pressing paid off when Pierre Sylvian Abogo scored from the spot to give his team the lead after a silly challenge by Ntui Brandon in the area.

YOSA fought hard to level scores but their task was made more difficult when TKC doubled their lead. Patrick Anaba was left unmarked when he calmly headed in at the far end of the post with goalkeeper Deffallah rooted to the spot.

TKC now have 14 points collected from 10 games.

The defeat means YOSA won’t ameliorate their 8th spot in Pool B with 8 points.  They will rather drop to the relegation zone after previous occupants Colombe thrashed New Stars of Douala three zero.

FULL TIME:

TKC 2-0 YOSA

Pierre Sylvain Abogo (Penalty) 50’

Patrick Anaba Metogo 70’
